This week has been gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous...I am talking mid to high 70's shorts wearin', walk takin', dock walkin', baby swingin', window openin' outside weather. This morning it is about forty degrees and last night was in the thirties, but that is alright. I'll take a little Spring in January to no Spring in Winter at all.
On the home front, we have a tooth. Good news for Baby Lane's mood, bad news for Mommy's nipple. The mechanics of nursing make it difficult for biting to occur, but it is kind of like sticking your head in a guillotine with a orangutan as operator. I feel so lucky to have been able to nurse Lane, but had no idea what a commitment it is when I began. She is definitely 'friends' with my girls (she plays with them, mashes her face into them, holds them) so I hope she self weans somewhere between a year and eighteen months so I don't have to take them away.....anyways, here's to hoping that first tooth's mate shows up quickly and painlessly!
Yesterday we toured the preschool that Lane will go to when she's two. It's a little ways off, but there is a waiting list that we are now on so that she gets a spot. Dave was a little overwhelmed by all the kiddos, but the school is fantastic and our neighbor runs it so we are looking forward to having a fun school experience when that day comes. For those interested, they have a blog where the teachers post what they are doing in their classrooms! http://wippreschool.blogspot.com/
I have named the potential rooster Moses (get it? chicken humor is awesome). Those tail feathers look longer and more masculine every day.
They are ordering plants soon at my first job after starting my business. I love and hate this part. Seeing my plans realized always brings such excitement, but miscellaneous factors like plant quality, plant placement, soil issues, etc. always adds stress.
#18. Your different smiles and faces: There is the Daddy smile, the Doggy smile, the Mommy grin, the shy smile where you bury your face in my shoulder, the 'that is interesting I want to see it' open mouth and coo, the 'that is nasty' food face, the 'that is pretty good' food face, the 'I am pooping' serious face, the worried look, the skeptical face, the tired stare. You are just a little thing but you have so much personality. I love getting to know you.

On a random note, Dave and I are planning a hiking camping trip for March. I am thinking about doing a canoe/hike/camp down the Suwanee River Wilderness Trail http://www.floridastateparks.org/wilderness/ if anyone knows anything about this, comment or shoot me an email.
