After our couple weeks of excitement, we're back to business as usual. Business for Baby Lane = playtime + naptime + eating + trying to learn to crawl. Business for me = following up on business + following up on certifications + being Mommy + cooking thoughtful dinners (one of new year's resolutions, going well so far....last night's 'spicy tofu stir fry' was pretty good).
Had a dream last night that Dave poked at my stomach, said 'getting chunky', laughed, and then rolled over in bed. I was so mad at him....I am still a little mad at him and he didn't even do anything. I had just been to the gym, so I think my subconcious was letting off a little post-workout steam. Eight months post-baby I am not unhappy with the body progress that I have made through walking and gym visits and eating well, but I am ready to take it to the next level. Bird is pretty good about cruising in her stroller, so I think some 5ks are in our future as the weather gets nicer. Dave and I have decided that putting a baby seat on my road bike is not safe, so I am on the lookout for a sturdier hybrid bike so that I can bike back and forth from the gym to the pool at the y to swim with baby. When she is old enough I would like to use their childcare for my workouts which would be fun for both of us....little one needs socialization, mommy needs some time on the treadmill = win win.
Not a long post today, got to clean up my office that is currently littered with baby toys, baby pants, a sippy cup, markers, two coffee cups (Dave's favorite!) and a stack of misc. paperwork that needs logging in. Mommy+Baby+Business=Awesome.
Here's to an early Spring! Thanks 'Punxsutawney Phil'
