The Good News and The Not-So-Good News

Thanks to Dave's Mom, she and his Grandparents came to visit us all the way from Eastport, New York. We got to take them to the spots that we enjoy, and some places that we had not ventured yet. Good times were had and happy memories were made, at least until the emergency room visit due to facial dog bite (not-so-happy memory). The incident simultaneously exacerbated his lower back problems and he will likely be having back surgery in the next couple of weeks. More blogging to come about surgery and before/after shots of his post - plastic surgery face.

Anywho.....onto the happy memories:

Savannah's Legendary Lunch at Ms. Wilkes is a must. Everything is served family style and you have to wait in line for a good hour to get in...but it's worth the wait.

A portion of the line

We finally convinced them to sit for a minute...
Captain Derek took us on a fantastic dolphin tour.
Saw plenty of dolphin and enjoyed the nice weather on the water.

Some dolphin.

Dave runs to Ft. Pulaski from the house occasionally, about 6 miles. We have never been to visit during business hours when they give tours and fire the cannons.

The Family
A smaller cannon The view from the inside ... we run the dogs on these grounds after hours.
Grams and Gramps The 'soldiers' giving the cannon firing demonstration.

Time in the cold pool - water was 68 or so - still a little cold.
58 years... One of my coolest memories ever...
