The Coop

So I meant to post this a couple weeks ago - but the coop arrived! It's a little smaller than we thought it was going to be, so we are giving away 2 chickens to a co-worker who wants to start a flock. The remaining three should fit fine. An update on the chickens:

1. They pant when they get hot. It has been in the 90's every day for two weeks, who could blame them. Every morning I fill a tray with water for them to stand in and put a frozen 2 liter bottle in there for them to lay with.

2. They're great for scraps. Melon rinds - yes. Stale bread - yes. Carrots - no. One of the guys I work with feeds his leftover chicken and egg shells - that is wrong.

3. I am not good at catching chickens. Dave is. I think it's genetic.
