An ode to my Aggies by Tanya

Every year I excitedly wait

a racehorse at the starting gate

Aggie Football is starting soon,

This is the year, shoot for the moon!

I dress up my family in maroon and white

This could be our moment, this could be the night!

The fight song starts and the yell leaders yell,

But low and behold, we still look like hell.

Is this the best, the absolute best we can do?

What happened to our wrecking crew?

Even my brown dog in her maroon shirt

Has a look on her face that says ‘that’s gotta hurt’

We’ve got Northgate and Bonfire, The Dixie Chicken

At one time this sport was our proudest tradition!

Did you know we’re the seventh largest school in the nation?

Greatness should come with population!

I think I’m going to blame Green Bay -

They should have convinced their Coach to stay.

By the end of the game I’ve had 25 beers,

And I scream at the tube that they’re worse than last year.

My husband avoids me, the dog’s in a corner,

I should have stopped watching at the end of 1st quarter.

The final point of the game, and what is the call?

Another incomplete pass - a**hole dropped the ball!

Like a moth to the flame I’ll keep watching this s**t

Year after year, hit after hit.

And I’ll stand up and sway and sing Aggie War Hymn

I can’t help it, I still love my A&M!

Congrats on your 17-24 loss to Arkansas! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WORSE!
