With the New Year coming (and a couple of seventy degree days coming up) I am moving on to Spring. In the South (particularly South Georgia) it is appropriate to plant bulbs late in the season since the soil takes a little while to get cto the optimal 55 degrees. I have purchased 360 daffodil bulbs which I intend to plant over the next few days during my time off. This got me thinking...it really is time to finish up the Master Concept Plan that I have been putting together in my mind since we bought the house (after all, this is what I recommend my clients do). Granted, not everything on the plan can be done right now...but at least it is on there.
So that you get an idea what Dave goes through, this is what I am bringing home tonight. I've been leading up to it by emailing him pictures of sheds and fences that I like while he is at work. This is how I tell him I am ready for my next project or should I say projects.....
Here are some of the pictures that I have emailed him over the past week or so:
I want to install a rain cistern for the new garden:
This one was titled 'do you know how to weld?'
I want to make the gate to the pool look something like this:

Here is how I want the decorative pool fence to look so I designed a detail
(he understands my pictures better than my long, ranting descriptions).
He mentioned that he wanted a shed, so I picked one out that I like. Figured I might as well get a potting area/greenhouse while we're at it!
Dave's usual responses are along these lines: 'get out the dry erase board, let's start a list', 'whatever you plant, make sure it thrives on dog pee', 'what are the priority projects', 'get plans and elevations of the shed and figure out what materials we need'. See, I have the vision and like to design/draw, and he helps make it happen - that is how we work. As far as the master plan, like I said, it doesn't have to go in all at once....
Love it all! That is going to look so awesome when you are done. I love how ya'll have a tree to plant in the backyard for your Christmas tree too... what a great idea :) Miss you!
