If I never see another river stone, that would be okay.

This was my weekend project while Dave was out of town. The fireplace was previously surrounded by a very bland travertine, which just didn't do anything for the space. I bought a few buckets of stone from a stone yard, washed it, buttered each piece, and got them up there. The grouting the next day was the worst part, but I am happy with how it turned out. The green was something that I saw in a magazine that I liked.
