It's like Eat, Pray, Love ... but not as interesting or romantic. We have a routine. It's not a sure thing every single day, but most day we wake up around 7, nurse, eat breakfast, then there is some play and baby's morning nap, mommy works, baby wakes, nurse, mommy eats, play time, nurse, baby takes shorter nap, mommy folds laundry or picks up, baby wakes, nurse, play time, afternoon fussiness begins, even shorter nap, mommy showers, baby wakes, nurse, play time, Daddy gets home, play time, Daddy give bottle, mommy eats, evening fussiness, bath, nurse, and finally sleep (add in eight or so diaper changes and lots of one-handed picking up).Throwing in a trip to the store or a doctor's appointment throws the whole thing out the window. That will get better, but right now I dread errands. This week we had a successful grocery store trip but last week I told Dave I'd rather run repeatedly into a barbed wire fence....and that is how it goes - getting better and easier week by week until you hit a rut and have to try something new.
Some baby stats: Lane has grown to 23.5 inches and now weighs almost ten pounds. She isn't rolling yet but she definately twists those hips from side to side - my days of changing table babysitter are done I'm afraid....glad the ceiling fan is still available.
I have successfully worked about 8 hours so far this week. It's stressful having any sort of deadline, but using my brain in that way is refreshing and knowing that I can bill a little bit feels good. When she starts eating food around six months, we might consider having a sitter come to play during the day with her so that I can get a little more done, but for right now this is working fine.
