40 weeks. My child has been on the outside the same amount of time that she needed to be on the inside....never mind the extra couple of weeks she incubated in there...her nine month doctor's appointment is this week. She can get her knees under her, she can push up on her arms, she can plank and I have seen a couple downward dogs....she isn't crawling with her belly off the ground, but she drags herself like a little legless zombie. She can go from laying down to sitting up now...she did it a bunch last night and was so proud of herself each time. She has two bottom teeth now, and I think the top ones are starting to bother her. She likes wires, phones, remote controls, belts, wallets, keys and things that crinkle. Daddy likes all those things too, I think he has a kindred spirit.
Business is picking up. I have just gotten a new contract and an finishing out a couple more. I truly feel this is what I am supposed to be doing. Raising my kiddo and growing my business....patience, patience. Patience with technology, insurance, billing and 9 month old CEO's.
St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner, friends and festivities await. I love how our little city transforms itself this time of year. Dullness into flowers, fountains into green. No matter how cold it is, March signals warm weather for me - time to get outside, drink as we walk downtown, sit on porches and balconies. I am always so ready for our hot summers to go away and then so ready for them to come back. Bring on post bedtime night swimming when the water and air are warm, open windows, cicadas, tree frogs, occasional grass snakes and glass lizards. Give me some 'baby's first real summer' with sprinklers and chunky legs in swim diapers and sticky watermelon hands. I'm ready. Bring it on.
We did a little backyard bonfiring on Friday and a little farmer's marketing on Saturday....bittersweet time with friends who are moving on to the bigger and better.
