What a week.
1. Made some new business contacts and got a couple new small, quick jobs that I am trying to get out before we leave for NY next week. I wish I had could play a video of me running around in the house, up the stairs, changing a diaper while she's trying to flip over and/or grab it, back down the stairs, working on the computer, handing the baby stuff off my desk, turning on children's radio, typing, dancing for her entertainment, grabbing her by one leg and dragging her back away from the garbage can and wires under my desk (she laughs at this), going downstairs for lunch, making lunch, putting it all on her tray, her throwing it off her tray and laughing at me, back up stairs at the computer, grabbing her hand as she goes for the power button on my computer, the plethora of items scattered on the floor...note cards, ribbon, circle templates, a drawing scale. It's funny to me and I'm not even watching it. I have been on the phone with a client wandering around with her outside on my hip to keep her quiet more times than I can count. I knew these first years would be craziness....but in a good way.
2. Made the short list for some municipal work that I put in a bid on - have an interview the day after we get back from said trip. Was notified of this yesterday. This weekend will be spent putting together a presentation of sorts.
3. Monkey has almost completely dropped her morning nap. See, napping requires that she stop moving, which she doesn't like to do.....ever...unless she's getting into something that she shouldn't be....like eating a dead moth on the windowsill, or trying to get to shoes or toes or dog toes to put them in her mouth, or playing in the dog water (okay, I admit that this one buys me a good ten minutes at dinner time...so I roll with it occasionally).
4.Dave got officially promoted to the head of his department. This means more work and stress for Dave, and he might miss bath time sometimes....or have to work weekends. How hard he works makes me able to be here for all of the above and I am grateful.
Happy Friday!
