The last couple of mornings I have been attending a 'Boot Camp' morning workout class from 6-7 on the local beach - Tybee Island. I am not sure if this is going to be a consistant thing, but my neighbor and I have been going and so far (despite the soreness) I am really enjoying it. Tybee is FULL of interesting folks. Most are not native to Tybee, but have flocked there due to the warm weather and quaint atmosphere. Dave and I have not spent much time on the beach, though it is only a 10 minute straight shot from our house. Unless a hurricane is going by the waves are small which does not cater to our California beach mentality, but I am beginning to think that I need to embrace this beach. For you Miley Cyrus/Nicholas Sparks fans, this is where 'The Last Song' was filmed.
This morning as our instructor,
Vicki, was guiding our 'donkey kicks' and plank poses I was enjoying watching the pelicans diving and dolphins poking up occasionally. The breeze is nice and there are wooden swings set up along the walking path that runs the length of the beach. The small waves lend themselves to paddle boarding and kayaking which might need to become the beach activity over the summer.
A couple of Tybee pictures
