Football!

In a sea of UGA and Falcon fans lie two very out of place yard flags on in Savannah - one for the NY Jets and one for the Texas A&M Aggies (not so out of place now that they have joined the SEC). Football season has arrived, bringing it's usual senseless frustrations and excitements - and wings! Dave has been pumping out wings on the 50 year old chrome deep fryer that we inherited - I have to say, they knew how to build a deep fryer back then - this thing is built like a tank except for the fabric wrapped electrical cord.....

Jets are looking a little dismal this year with two star players out for the season and two mediocre quarterbacks (yes, I said it, mediocre at best). Aggies are looking much better than expected in their new conference, but I will knock on wood and save my bragging until after they play LSU, Auburn,
Ole Miss, etc.  Regardless of how they do, we enjoy a few beers and some down time on Saturdays and Sundays.

The garden - now dubbed the baby food garden - is in. Lane watched this weekend as I weeded and planted veggies....something she'll be doing for a long, long time. Doctor said we'll be starting solid foods at 6 months, so most of this should be ready to go by then. The garden is as organic as I can make it (the seeds are not, the soil is, no chemical fertilizers). I am sure she is just going to love and appreciate the elbow grease that goes into my garden fresh peas, green beans, carrots and broccolli (certainly not going to be the first one we try!). Even if the whole thing is a waste, I am sure my neighbors appreciate the cleaned out garden, and Lane thought raking was interesting.

That's all for now! Happy Thursday!

Gimme a 'J'!
Football with Daddy - Jets were not doing so hot at this point....
